In 1985 Adolfo de las Heras Marín, purchased an estate of extremely high ecological and viticultura! importance. Finca El Renegado, has 540 hectáreas in total, 80% of the vineyards are planted with 40 year old Bobal vines, Bobal being the local grape. Adolfo de las Heras was a pioneer in introducing international varieties such as Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon and also in being one of the first to bottle high quality wines in the area.

However at the end of the 90’s, his son, Adolfo de las Heras Polo decided to make sorne significant changes. He introduced further grape varieties such as: Syrah, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc, which we use today. The barrel cellar was developed, the bottling line was put into place and the old house was transformed into a beautiful rural hotel. His goal was to transform winemaking and make high quality wines using the latest technology.  In 2006 following many trials and experimentation the first bottled wine under his guidance was produced.
This was when crianza’s and other oak aged wines began to be produced, using French oak, giving the wine complexity and elegance. The brand Nodus was born.

Our Winery is situated in the O.O. Utiel-Requena, in Caudete de las Fuentes, in the province of Valencia (Spain). This wine producing area is between 600 & 800 metres above sea level. The area has ideal soil and climatic conditions which enable us to produce superior quality wines. The winery itself it situated in the centre of the estate, in perfect harmony with the area. We use the most modern technology to manipulate the highest quality grapes to ensure excellent wine.

The wineries machinery allows us to carry out various types of macerations which let us produce wines with different characters.
